The XCV-330 is one of the missing links in the Enterprise's design lineage. The ship was first seen in illustrated form in STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE when Decker is giving Ilia a tour of the ship. A model of it later appeared in the Kelvin Timeline in STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS. The ship is based on one of Matt Jefferies' early rejected designs for the Enterprise.
