101 Dalmatians is a 1961 American animated film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation for release by Buena Vista Distribution. The 17th Disney animated feature film, it is based on the 1956 Dodie Smith novel The Hundred and One Dalmatians. The film tells the story of two Dalmatians, Pongo and Perdita, and their litter of 15 puppies who are abducted by Cruella de Vil, a fur-obsessed fashion designer who wants to use their fur to make a coat. With the help of other dogs from around London, Pongo and Perdita set out to find and rescue their puppies.
